Grilled Salmon Steaks

The second state on this 2020 goal of creating a recipe inspired by all 50 states takes us to Alaska. While in Alaska this past summer I was gifted some beautiful king salmon, I sliced this giant into some beautiful steaks. This is one of those steaks!

King Salmon is one of the most prized salmons because it its color, flavor, size and mostly because of its fat. This beautiful fish did not disappoint, it was a meal fit for a King.

Grilled Salmon Steaks

Ingredients:

2-4 salmon filets or steaks

2 tsp cracked pepper

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp cracked pepper

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp olive or avocado oil.

Directions:

  1. Preheat Traeger 450 or grill to high
  2. Brush both sides of salmon with oil, this will help with the sticking factor to the grill
  3. Season each side of steaks
  4. Place on hot grill and cook 4 minutes, flip and cook additional 4. I love eating my salmon medium, if you like it more cooked, cook 6 minutes each side
  5. I love grilled lemons as a side with these steaks, slice each lemon and place on grill, flipping when you flip salmon
  6. Serve along side your favorite sides and top with grilled lemons

Remember recipes are a guide line, add or take away whatever you want, just get cooking and eating!
